Er geht auf eine sehr bekannte und erfolgreiche Kuhfamilie zurück. So ist seine mittelrahmige, unauffällige Mutter mit korrektem Fundament und Euter, die Vollschwester von Polarstern und Halbschwester zu Hurrican. Aus der Urgroßmutter von VOLLMOND PS stammt Ruptal. VOLLMOND PS ist frei von dem aktuell in der Hornloszucht dominierenden Mungo PS-Blut. Im Exterieur sollen seine Töchter ausgeglichen erscheinen, wobei die Anlage von F2C bei VOLLMOND PS beachtet werden sollte.
